After taking time out to have a foot problem corrected with a minor operation, Michael Ballack has now returned to training.
The German international, who got involved in a spat with his national manager during his rehabilitation following the operation, will give Liz Felipe Scolari another option when his fitness is confirmed.
We doubt very much whether he`ll be available for the intriguing Carling Cup clash with Burnley on Wednesday night but he may be ready for a place on the bench on Saturday as we go chasing a record 10 Premier League away wins on the trot in a fixture with West Bromwich Albion.
