Congratulations Burnley!

In the aftermath of our Carling Cup exit to Burnley, proved to be an interesting experience.

Sat in front of the PC, still slightly bewildered at us having gone out of a cup competition on yet another penalty shoot-out, I watched the chatbox from other clubs came across to gloat.

Messages were left chiding us for a number of reasons amongst them being,

- Our inability to beat lower league opposition!

- Questioning who we`d get in the quarter-final draw (very droll)!

- Laughing at the demise of our hopes for a quadruple!

They just kept rolling in and extending the numerous threads available on our site.

I could have got a few kicks by replying to then but I wasn`t in the mood and some twelve hours later I`m still not.

However I would like to make one thing clear.

In the aftermath of our exit I`d like to wish Burnley Football Club good luck in their quest to achieve both promotion and glory in the Carling Cup, do yourselves proud and go all the way.

And as for those who came baiting last night, perhaps a reminder of that old saying - 'he who laughs last laughs longest` - might suffice for now!
