First of all, I would like to say "SELAMAT HARI RAYA" to all the Chelsea fans in Brunei!

Chelsea's 100% winning streak continues as they demolished West Ham United easily.

Chelsea's starting eleven was without Alex and Malouda, who were both rested for the upcoming Champions League match in midweek and Lampard who was out due to injury. John Terry's partner in center-half was Ivanovic with Ashley Cole and Paulo Ferreira both at leftback and rightback respectively. Chelsea's midfield was a debut for Ramires, John Obi Mikel and Michael Essien taking on the free role. The strikers were Anelka, Drogba and Kalou.

Chelsea controlled the game from start to finish and the fans didn't have to wait long for the first goal which came as early as the 3rd minute.

Michael Essien scored two goals in this match and the other goal was scored unintentionally by Salomon Kalou.

Not much of a surprise there and now Chelsea will face MSK Zilina.

Chelsea 2 - 0 Stoke City

The champions won again after goals from Florent Malouda and Didier Drogba saw off Stoke City.

Chelsea dominated the match from the start and it could've been worse for Stoke City if not for Sorensen, who saved so many shots and even one from the penalty spot by Frank Lampard.

The first goal was scored by Malouda after a nicely done through-pass from the captain, John Terry.

Chelsea's second goal was scored by Didier Drogba from the penalty spot. Sorensen saved one from earlier on, but couldn't do nothing this time.

Ramires made his debut for Chelsea, coming in for Michael Essien.

Next Saturday, the champions will face Avram Grant's West Ham away.

The draw was done last night and Chelsea are safe from potential big team clashes like Real Madrid and Roma who were placed in Pot 2.

So who did we get?

We'll be taking on Marseille (French League Champions & also Didier Drogba's former club), Spartak Moscow ( Tough Russian team and also a long trip to Moscow ) and MSK Zilina ( Slovakian club which I haven't heard of before!)

Chelsea dominated the whole entire game and smashed Wigan with 6 goals without reply!

The first half of the game was dominated by Wigan with more ball possesion, but they failed to get any goal pass Petr Cech. Chelsea's first goal was easily scored by Florent Malouda after Wigan's keeper saved a shot from Frank Lampard.

Chelsea then started the second half with an early 48th minute goal by Nicolas Anelka, with Jon Obi Mikel passing a wonderful long ball. Four minutes later, Anelka scored another goal and this time was assisted by Didier Drogba.

Chelsea changed Florent Malouda with Salomon Kalou and Essien with Benayoun and both of them was on the score-sheet with Kalou scoring twice and Benayoun getting the sixth goal and his first for Chelsea since his move from Liverpool.

Didier Drogba may have not scored a goal, but he assisted three of them unselfishly.

So, there you go, another week, another Chelsea smashing win!

The Brazilian playmaker will join his new Chelsea mates next week and he said: " Every player in the world would love to play for Chelsea and its a great opportunity that was given to me. I will give my best to repay this chance and I am very happy."

After 3 years, Chelsea are champions once again and won it with style by beating Wigan 8 - ZERO!

Not only that, Chelsea also broke records by scoring a total of 103 goals with Didier Drogba scoring

Jose Mourinho couldn't be much more happier after his side won at home against his old club with a 2-1 scoreline.

Inter Milan scored an early goal through Diego Milito in the 3rd minute but Chelsea dominated most of the first half. Didier Drogba took a free-kick (more like a penalty kick to him!) but the ball hit off the bar.

Then came the talking point, Salomon Kalou was clearly tripped by Samuel inside the penalty box and Chelsea should've been given a penalty. But the ref didn't see that. After the game, even Samuel admitted that it was a foul and that he was very lucky, no penalty was given.

Second half, Chelsea levelled the scoreline with a nicely placed shot from Kalou. But Chelsea was caught sleeping as Inter attacked and got one back from Cambiasso's blistering strike.

Not long after the goal, Petr Cech had to come off with a calf injury and he was replaced by one of Mourinho's signing, Hilario.

Eventhough Mourinho won this time, but it will be hard for him and his men when they come to Fortress Stamford Bridge in the second leg.

That was a BIG BIG BIG win!!

We have proven again and again that against the big teams, we are the real deal! Two fantastic goals from our hitman, Didier Drogba was enough to bring us back to the top where we belong!Not forgetting to mention that Drogba almost had a third goal when his thunderbolt free kick hit the bar!

Who was the man of the match for you? For me, it was between Petr Cech and Drogba. Petr Cech was excellent having to save shots after shots! But Chelsea's defending was a joy to watch! Reminds me of the old Jose Mourinho days when our defense was the best in the world and still is!

After this, I'm sure Arsene Wenger has something to say.....as always..

Chelsea shared the points with Hull at the KC Stadium.

From what I saw, Chelsea started to play their game after being one goal behind. Chances after chances came but we could not find the goal winner.

Our defending from set pieces was again showing some vulnerability. But the defenders did very well, just that our attacking players weren't quite as sharp as I expected. Probably fatigue has set in as Chelsea played 3 games in just 7 days!

Now, we look forward to the game against Arsenal.

Before the match, John Terry was hit with a sex scandal and the Burnley fans didn't spare him any and booed him everytime he had the ball. But I guess the boos he got, just made him even stronger by scoring the winning header!

The first goal was scored by Nicolas Anelka.

With the win, Chelsea are still at the top of the table with a 4 point gap.

Tonight, all eyes are on Arsenal vs Manchester United. If they draw, and if Chelsea win their next game, that would mean a 6 point gap.

All the tabloids in the UK are saying that John Terry had a secret affair with former team-mate and current England team-mate, Wayne Bridge's ex-girlfriend.

And with all that, people are wanting John Terry to resign or get stripped off his captaincy for England!

I'm not saying that I like what John Terry did (if it was true!), but to strip him off England's Captain or even dropping him from the squad is absolutely stupid! There is no other english player that I can think of who is better than John Terry as a captain.

But this isn't the first time John Terry has been hit with scandals. There were stories that his mum once shoplifted, his dad selling cocaine and now this sex scandal. All I can say is that ONLY THE DATE ON THE NEWSPAPER IS RIGHT, THE OTHERS ARE JUST PLAIN BS!

Chelsea won. No big surprise. Anelka and Sturridge scored.

With Chelsea the only big team left in the F.A cup, I just can't help but believe that Chelsea can win it so easily! United and Liverpool were dumped earlier and Arsenal were the next victim after they lost to Stoke City last night.

NICOLAS ANELKA for me made the big difference. Without him, we struggle, even if we had Drogba in the team, but Anelka gives that slight attacking edge. But tonight, every player out there was simply amazing!

Many tabloids have linked so many strikers with Chelsea for weeks now and I found some of them quite amusing!

Spanish side Atletico Madrid are believed to have offered to sell Sergio Aguero, 21, to Chelsea for £30m, providing they can have the striker back on loan for the rest of the season.

Chelsea have entered the race to sign German striker Kevin Kuranyi. The 27-year-old Schalke striker has also held talks with Sunderland.

Chelsea are ready to swoop for £36m Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko, the Stamford Bridge outfit are ready to offer straight cash for the big Bosnian front man, where as fellow suitors AC Milan want to try and do a swap deal.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Italian striker Giampaolo Pazzini for £22m but Sampdoria will only let him leave if the 25-year-old is loaned back to them for the rest of the season.

Chelsea dominated the whole game without Lampard, Ballack, Deco and still are unstoppable!

Goals came from Malouda, Essien scoring twice and Joe Cole.

But the highlight of the night was the introduction of Gael Kakuta who was brilliant and showed why he's the cost of two season buying ban!

Another Chelsea new boy was Serbian Nemanja Matic who came in for goal-scorer, Malouda. He's dubbed as the new left-footed Patrick Vieira because of the way he plays and for his height!

A big win for Chelsea and currently we are 8 points clear on top! (But we'll have to see how the Mancs will do later against another blue team, Everton.)

Chelsea Wins!

A very nerve-wrecking game indeed and a well-deserved win for the mighty Blues! The super pair of Drogba and Anelka didn't do to well in the attack but John Terry was the hero of the day! He scored with a header in a set-piece.

Although I think that the ref had so many bad calls for both side but I am really sure that Sir Alex Ferguson has a lot more to say about the refs, like always!

This win means that Chelsea are secure at the top with a gap of 5 points ahead.

Tonight, Chelsea will host Manchester United.

Chelsea pair Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka are both in top form at the moment and not forgetting the free scoring midfielders in Michael Ballack, Michael Essien, Frank Lampard and Deco are also deadly with their shots. This will be a big worry for Alex Ferguson because his usually Mr. Reliable Rio Ferdinand is out with a calf injury. That leaves a back-line of Vidic, Evra, Evans, O'shea and Brown. None of them good enough up against Drogba and Anelka!

Chelsea's defence are without Bosingwa, but Ivanovic is a more capable defender who can definitely score in set-pieces and corners. John Terry will be partnering Carvalho and the left back slot will be Ashley Cole.

Midfield should be Essien at the bottom of the diamond formation, Ballack on the left, Lampard on the right and Deco on top.

All in all, this should be an exciting game!

No surprises there as the mighty Blues swept away the Flu-hit club Bolton Wanderers in the Carling Cup.

Many first team players were rested for this match and they included John Terry, Anelka, Lampard, Cech, Carvalho with Alex, Ferreira and Joe Cole all starting after a lengthy injury. Strikers upfront were Sturridge and Kalou. Midfielders were Deco in the back, Ballack on the right, Malouda on the left and Joe Cole on the tip of the diamond formation.

Goals came from Kalou, Malouda, Deco and Drogba.

The two sides will meet again at the Reebok Stadium and I'd have to say that it should be a good game to watch! Don't miss it guys!

A superb performance from the blue boys against the once mighty Blackburn Rovers.

Chelsea dominated the game from the start and goals came from Givet (O.G), Lampard scoring twice, Drogba and a super thunderbolt from Michael Essien! There was nothing much the Blackburn boys could do with Essien, Ballack and Lampard commanding the midfield and also with Anelka, Drogba and Joe Cole terrorizing the Blackburn defence.

There were many chances and on-target shots but the former England no.1 Goalkeeper, Robinson, had made good saves including a super shot from Chelsea's Captain, John Terry.

Tonight is the night that everyone is waiting for especially for us the Chelsea fan and for those who supported Liverpool. A big match will be held tonight (local time at 10.55pm) at the Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Liverpool. Millions of viewers around the world will be watching this exciting match, so don't miss watching it LIVE at Astro channel 812 (ESPN). As you can read in the tagboard, tonight, the BCFC admin is organizing gathering for Chelsea fan watching the match together-gether at the MyNest Cafe, Serusop at 10pm. Currently the Blues is in the 2nd in the league after dropping their first points of the season in last weekend’s 3-1 loss to Wigan. Chelsea will be without goalkeeper Petr Cech for the match through suspension, after the Czech international was sent off in last weekend’s loss. However Didier Drogba, who was suspended for the match against APOEL Nicosia, will return for this crucial clash against Liverpool. Michael Ballack should return for the Blues after recovering from a calf injury that kept him sidelined against Wigan.

These games are never without controversy though, which makes them all the more difficult to predict and whilst Benitez seems happy to focus on their double over Chelsea last season, unsurprisingly, he conveniently forgets who put them out of last year's Champions League. Another thing that makes this game difficult to work out is both our recent performances, because whilst Liverpool looked to be scoring goals for fun in the league last week, in the Champions League they were disaster. And after our defeat to Wigan last weekend, a mid-week struggle against Apoel Nicosia wasn't exactly an inspiring performance in the build up for this either.

Liverpool will hope to have midfielder Javier Mascherano after the hamstring ruled him out of midweek. Fabio Aurelio will be sent to the bench if Mascherano returns. Martin Skrtel and Jamie Carragher will keep their places although Daniel Agger is closing on full fitness following a back injury. Fernando Torres and Steven Gerard was kept quiet against Florentina so they will want to silence their critcis here.

Predictions: Knowing Peter Cech is not playing at this match, i have a bad feelings that the Blues won't win the match but it will be a draw match. But i am hoping will win this match, i still have the faith for that.. GO BLUESSS.. UP THE BLUES..

Chelsea defeated FC Porto 1 - 0 in the UEFA Champions League last night. Nicolas Anelka proved Chelsea can survive and prosper without banned Didier Drogba as the France international settled their opening Champions League qualifying game against Porto with a second half winner.

Anelka, given the task of filling a lone role in attack in the absence of the suspended Ivory Coast international, struck three minutes after the interval to dispel any lingering doubts that Chelsea cannot cope without the talismanic Drogba.

Drogba is banned for the first three Group D games following his foul-mouthed rant after the semi-final defeat to Barcelona last season, but Anelka, as he has so often done in the past, made the most of his opportunity to shine.

For the first time in the game, Carlo Ancelotti's side looked distinctly vulnerable as Porto launched a succession of counter-attacks.

They almost equalised when Guarin tested Cech with a powerful drive in the 75th minute and the Chelsea goalkeeper then produced another superb save to prevent substitute Silvestre Varela from finding the net with an angled drive.

It was an anxious time for the home side and Ancelotti was quick to see the danger, taking off Kalou and replacing him with defender Juliano Belletti.

Regarding the win, Ancelotti claimed the result was good, but added that the performance was not worthy of commendation. However, he claimed that Porto were the toughest contenders in their group, so it was important to start by accumulating maximum points in the first round of group action.

Regarding the performance of Salomon Kalou, who was deputising for the suspended Didier Drogba, Ancelott said: "Didier is an important player for us but Kalou did a very good job.

"Nicolas is a great player. He can play without Didier and with Didier. He has no problem."

Europe's premier club competition is back, as Chelsea begin their march towards the one title they have not yet laid their hands on

Chelsea first opponent are a side who have won it twice. FC Porto quite sensationally clinched the trophy in the 2003-04 season, when our boys crashed out in the semi-finals to AS Monaco. The season after that Jose Mourinho left the Portuguese club to take charge at the Bridge, and although he went on to win back to back league titles, failed to bring European success to West London, as did the three people who succeeded him in the hot seat.

And so it all begins again, and this time in our relentless attempt to go the distance, we've got another Champions League winning coach, Carlo Ancelotti. He has overseen a fantastic start in the Premiership, where Chelsea lead the standings having won all five games so far, and now he will try to keep the momentum going against Porto.

Although we did not meet Porto in that 2003-04 season, we faced them twice since. Three seasons back we needed Michael Ballack to take us past them in the round of 16 stage, and in the 2004-05 season, where they were ofcorse the defending champions, we met them once again in the group stage. In those four meetings, we've won two games, drawn one and lost one. Both those wins however were at the Bridge.

Our form going into this game is as mentioned above, fantastic. 100% record in the league, top of the table, life could not be any sweeter. But we had to wait till the 94th minute to get the three points against Stoke City in the weekend, and if Porto employ the same tactics as Stoke, then it might again become difficult for us. But I dont think any team would want to play like that, and am pretty sure Porto wont.

We wont have the services of Didier Drogba and Jose Bosingwa though, both suspended from last season. Deco, Alex, Paulo Ferreira, Joe Cole and Yuri Zhirkov are all out with injuries, and as a result Carlo has had to name three youngsters in the squad in Sam Hutchinson, Jeffrey Bruma and Fabio Borini. Don't think it will reach a point where we will actually have to play them, but still its a great opportunity for them to get a taste of this massive competition.

For Porto, they will hope to progress to the quarter finals after they were edged out 3-2 by Manchester United last season. Currently they are unbeaten in their first four domestic matches of the season and have no major injury problems after welcoming back Cristian Rodriguez into the side.

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is confident the transfer ban imposed on the club will not affect their Premier League ambitions in the short term.

World governing body Fifa recently found Chelsea guilty of inducing Gael Kakuta to break his contract with Lens.

"The transfer embargo is not a problem because we have a good team and very good players," said Ancelotti.

"The club are appealing and we have to wait for a good result for us. We hope that they overturn the decision."
Chelsea cannot sign any new players during the next two transfer windows, and Fifa has confirmed that they cannot recall any players on season-long loans under the terms of their transfer ban.

I can understand non-Chelsea fans taking delight in the decision as what better way to level the playing fields (similar to Formula 1) and whilst I cannot condone that which is illegal I will be most surprised if other clubs have not engaged in similar activities in the past. Bearing in mind that when purchasing from other English clubs the excessive fees paid by clubs such as Chelsea are injected directly back into these clubs, this ban is also not good for the English game - but then I believe that this is ultimately the goal of FIFA! They don't like seeing you guys having the best, most exciting league in the world.

Personally i don't feel that this punishment will affect Chelsea too much, we have a good strong squad, and some good youth players coming through, but I hope Chelsea fight this decision all the way. UP THE BLUES.

Chelsea have won!

Two goals from Didier Drogba was enough to seal the win. He missed a few chances but made up for it with a second superb goal in the last dying minutes of the game.

Chelsea won because of Drogba, who was the game’s towering presence and the only one who looked likely to beat Hull’s excellent defence. It might seem a cliche to say the centre-forward is worth his weight in gold but in this team, in this league, that might not be far from the truth. His first goal was a brilliant free kick and though he had the good grace to say the winner was lucky, it was still a delightfully skillful cross that might have made a goal for Salomon Kalou had it not sneaked in.

Chelsea's happy habit for opening day success continues but it needed a stoppage-time winner from Didier Drogba. And what a winner it was too, scored from what is traditionally termed an impossible angle - the second of what will be Goal of the Month contenders from the Ivorian.

CARLO ANCELOTTI has confirmed he will take over at Chelsea this summer.

An official announcement will be made as soon as AC Milan decide on his successor — likely to be this week.

SunSport understands Ancelotti told Roman Abramovich of his decision yesterday morning.

It followed Milan’s 2-1 defeat by Udinese on Saturday evening that confirmed Jose Mourinho’s Inter as champions.

Ancelotti met with club directors, including vice-president Adriano Galliani, after the Udinese defeat.

It was agreed Ancelotti’s eight-year reign at the San Siro was over and he was told he could leave for Stamford Bridge with Milan’s blessing.

Former Holland and Milan striker Marco Van Basten, who recently quit as Ajax boss, is in talks to take over from Ancelotti.

SunSport revealed on February 10 that Ancelotti, 49, was the man Blues owner Abramovich wanted to replace Phil Scolari.

We also reported that Guus Hiddink’s appointment was never anything other than in a caretaker role.

A four-year contract worth £22million was agreed a month ago and will be signed after Ancelotti undergoes a medical.

He has already identified a major summer signing in Aston Villa star Ashley Young — as we revealed last week.

DIDIER DROGBA last night warned Barcelona: We can outgun you!

The Chelsea striker taunted the Catalan giants by insisting the Blues have more matchwinners in their team.

With so much hype around Barca’s ‘holy trinity’ of Leo Messi, Samuel Eto’o and Thierry Henry, the Ivory Coast striker hit back with a volley of his own.

Drogba, 31, said: �I think, in the last few months, we’ve shown that we can score goals and, OK, they have Messi, Henry, Eto’o, and Andres Iniesta but we can also score.

�We’ve got more players able to score. Our midfielders, our defenders can also score. We can score from every position in our side.

�We know that. We know that and we have to score goals to win the tie.�

In the knockout stages alone, Chelsea have found goals from four different players in three areas of the team.

Drogba left the Nou Camp last week a frustrated man after Victor Valdes foiled him in what was Chelsea’s best chance of the match.

But he is more determined than ever to make any chance count and knows just how valuable another opportunity could be.

He added: �It would be great for Chelsea if I’d managed to score that goal, but Valdes made two fantastic saves.

�Yes, I was a bit frustrated. In these kind of games, if you manage to score it makes a big difference.

�As a striker, you know that. If you miss a chance one game, another might come along in the next. That is what you hope. I hope to have similar chances on Wednesday to make a difference.

�But you have to think about the team, rather than the individual. I was frustrated not to have scored, but I was also happy with the result we got there.�

Barcelona’s players complained that Chelsea were overly-physical in the first leg but the Blues were also upset with some of the clear play-acting from the La Liga leaders.

Drogba, who has also come under criticism in recent years for his own knack to hit the deck all too quickly, called for the referee to remain strong.

He said: �We were not upset. The English league and the Spanish league are very different in terms of the type of football teams play.

�The Champions League is great because then you have the chance to meet different types of football and see great games.

�Everyone enjoyed the game in Nou Camp last week. They complained, sure.

�But their complaints are coming from frustration because they didn’t score.

�I can understand that but the referee was good for this kind of game. He showed good control.

�They have tried to put a bit of pressure on the ref for the next game but we know it’s going to be a game everyone wants to see.�

SALOMON KALOU drilled home the winner as Chelsea erased the memory of Wednesday's goalless draw with Everton.

Kalou broke the deadlock with 55 minutes on the clock after some fine work by Frank Lampard.

England midfielder Lampard wriggled free in the box before cutting back a left-foot cross.

The ball eluded West Ham keeper Robert Green and the unmarked Kalou calmly chested it down before rifling into the net.

Guus Hiddink's side looked comfortable throughout despite the Dutchman leaving regular starters Didier Drogba, Michael Ballack and Ashley Cole on the bench.

They were unlucky not to extend the lead when substitute Cole rattled the bar after Nicolas Anelka had been denied in the 65th minute by Green.

But the visitors had Petr Cech to thank for preserving the advantage when Kalou gave away a needless penalty by pulling back Herita Ilunga.

The Hammers were on a high going into the game with managerial duo Gianfranco Zola and Steve Clarke just days away from signing new four-year contracts.

But it was their former club who created the first real chance after 16 minutes with Lampard sliding in Florent Malouda.

The Frenchman threatened to spoil the party as he raced away before dragging his shot disappointly wide of the target.

Kieron Dyer, making his first start since August 2007, should have given the hosts the lead shortly afterwards.

But the best the injury-prone midfielder could manage was a tame shot at Cech after Diego Tristan had split the Chelsea defence.

Lampard, with jeers ringing in his ears, had a few sighters on Green’s goal. One volley flashed wide, a second went straight at the keeper and Noble bravely blocked another.

Chelsea kept the pressure on but almost fell behind just before the break. John Mikel Obi was on hand to clear off the line when Tristan prodded towards goal after Noble’s corner was nodded down by Matthew Upson with Cech out of position.

With the scare out of their system, the visitors went ahead 10 minutes after the restart.

Lampard tricked his way towards the byline down the left and floated a cross to the far post, where Kalou planted his finish into an empty net.

Lampard and Blues skipper John Terry celebrated in front of the Bobby Moore Stand and missiles were thrown towards them from the crowd.

Jose Bosingwa, who will mark Barcelona ace Lionel Messi on Tuesday, was given a breather just before the hour mark with Cole coming on at left-back.

Zola’s response to falling behind saw him replace Dyer and the misfiring David Di Michele with Freddie Sears and Radoslav Kovac.

Anelka should have doubled the lead when Juliano Belletti sent him through after Upson slipped.

But the striker was left with his head in his hands after Green blocked the effort and the ball cannoned back off him for a goalkick.

Cole then shaved the crossbar before the Hammers were awarded the penalty.

But Cech showed his confidence is now fully restored by denying Noble.

But despite the defeat to his former club, Zola could still take West Ham into the Europa League in his rookie season as a manager.

He said: “It was a good penalty but unfortunately Petr Cech has made a great save.

Hiddink insisted that it was now time to focus on the Champions League and the FA Cup after their goalless stalemate against Everton at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea face Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final, first leg at the Nou Camp next Tuesday and Hiddink is considering giving some of his players a rest against West Ham on Saturday.

He is already without centre-half Ricardo Carvalho for the trip to Spain, the Portuguese having suffered a recurrence of his hamstring problem.

But in a dress rehearsal for the FA Cup final at the end of May, Chelsea and Everton served up an entertaining draw that was dominated by goalkeepers.

Chelsea's Petr Cech and Everton's Tim Howard produced fine solo performances to preserve the deadlock which, coupled with Manchester United's 2-0 victory over Portsmouth, put an end to any remaining title ambitions for Hiddink's side.

The Blues are six points adrift of leaders United who have a game in hand and Hiddink knows the title is no longer a realistic ambition.

"It is difficult but we now have to focus on only two other roads - the Champions League and, later on in May, Everton again in the FA Cup final,'' admitted Hiddink.

"Everyone is disappointed. We knew it was difficult to go for the title so when you drop two points there is disappointment of course. But this team is able to cope with that and focus ourselves on the difficult game against Barcelona next week.''

Cech starred in the opening half when he twice denied Everton striker Jo and then midfielder Tim Cahill.

In the second period it was the turn of Howard to keep Chelsea at bay as he prevented Lampard and Kalou from scoring with fine saves.

Ivorian hitman Didier Drogba almost won it for Chelsea when his volley crashed against the crossbar in stoppage time but Steven Pienaar and Cahill also squandered late chances to win it for the Toffees.

The result kept Everton in sixth place, a point behind Aston Villa, but boss David Moyes determined to overhaul them.

"It means a lot to me to finish fifth,'' said Moyes. "If we do it this year it will be four top-six finishes out of five. So what we've done is a decent effort and Everton are becoming a side that is competing at a top level.''

Moyes paid tribute to his players who produced another hardworking performance after their gruelling victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final at the weekend.

"It was a good point under the circumstances after playing 120 minutes on Sunday,'' said Moyes. "We didn't have a massive amount of recovery before coming here to play a team who are in good form. So I think a point was a good result for us.

"The players have been playing great all season and I have to say well done to them. This was another terrific effort from them.

"We had some good chances but I thought Joseph Yobo and Joleon Lescott were terrific at the back.''

Chelsea's Didier Drogba was a thorn in Arsenal's side again on Saturday when he struck late to clinch a 2-1 victory in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

The Ivory Coast striker pounced on Frank Lampard's lofted pass with six minutes remaining to give Chelsea their first FA Cup success over Arsenal since 1947.

They will face the winners of Sunday's semi-final between Manchester United and Everton, which is also at Wembley.

Drogba has now scored eight goals against Arsenal since joining Chelsea from Olympique Marseille, including a late winner in the League Cup final in 2007.

Neither side were at their best following midweek triumphs in the Champions League and Chelsea had to dig deep after Theo Walcott volleyed Arsenal ahead in the 18th minute.

Chelsea's equaliser came from the unlikely source of winger Florent Malouda before the break.

Arsenal had the better second-half chances before some hesitation by second-choice goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski let in Drogba who slotted home from a tight angle.

Interim manager Guus Hiddink can now sign off his short reign at Chelsea with an FA Cup final showdown on May 30.

"This is a huge step to be in the FA Cup final because it's so respected worldwide," said Hiddink.

The Dutchman's only other appearance at the new Wembley ended in defeat when his Russia side lost 3-0 to England in a Euro 2008 qualifier.

"I think we deserved it today. We adapted well after they scored and we started to control and dominate. The sloppy start was down to a tactical reason," said Hiddink.

I can say this is one of the best football match ever.. Previously all football fans said that Chelsea & Liverpool clash was one of the boring clash, now you can see it is amongst the amazing match ever.. Brilliant game, the score ended 4-4 at Stamford Bridge.. With aggregate 7-5 win for Chelsea..

Chelsea was behind 2-0 after Aurellio and Xabi Alonso scored through confuse free-kick and penalty shootout respectively.. This time really a hard time for Chelsea fans, me myself thinks that Liverpool had chance actually to knocked Chelsea out.. Liverpool really dominate the first-half and Chelsea almost vulnerable..

A famous win indeed and what a way to get revenge after two losses in the premier league by our red nemesis Liverpool. Following this win, our temporary manager Guus Hiddink had this to say:

"I admit it was an unexpected result, but we are very happy with the win and it was well deserved.

"We pinpointed areas in our opponents' side where we could hurt them. The team could smell that and they took advantage. We talked about that situation again at the break and made sure we continued in the same way."

"We started very sloppily, the jobs we were doing in defence were not as good as they could have been. We let them score far too easily, but I can only compliment my team for their recovery from that set-back. Straight afterwards we could have equalised on two occasions.

"But we reacted well, we scored with a very good set-piece and from then on the confidence flooded through our team. If you feel the opponent can be hurt in some part of their team, it would be stupid not to go for it."

Rafa Benitez had this to say:

"We scored first but after that we were never in control. We conceded a bad equaliser from a set-piece. That was not because of the zonal marking but because players made mistakes to allow people space and time.

With kick-off delayed by 30 minutes and news filtering through that United were losing at Craven Cottage, Guus Hiddink's Blues knew a win would put them right back in contention for the title.

The only problem was no one had told Tottenham and Luka Modric, who netted the only goal of the game, that they were required to roll over and die.

Having seen his side slip to their first defeat under his leadership, Hiddink could not hide his disappointment at full-time.

The Dutchman said: "Today was an ideal opportunity to close the gap on Manchester United and we missed it.

"These are the days you look back on and regret very much when you are in a title race.

"We cannot afford to drop two or three points in any game if we want to catch United and today we lost — it's a huge blow.

"Still, we have two other roads to trophies (the FA Cup and Champions League) and we must learn a big lesson from today if we want to challenge for those.

Spurs frustrated their fierce rivals during a goalless first half with skipper Robbie Keane forcing Petr Cech into action on two occasions.

Chelsea's top stars have come out in support of Guus Hiddink as they look to keep their season alive.

The Dutch coach was brought in until the end of the season after Luiz Felipe Scolari lost his way at Stamford Bridge.

There was talk of unrest in the dressing room and the players being split into different camps but they were all singing from the same hymn sheet about the new man and his impact.

"There is a difference in the players,'' said Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole. "When a manager goes it is always hard and the players liked him (Scolari), but now it is a fresh start for a lot of players and I think there is a different kind of belief.''

Midfielder Frank Lampard hopes Chelsea can build on recent performances to re-ignite their title bid.

"It is just a start for us. In league terms we are not where we should be,'' he said. "Villa was a good result for us and again we had a good result (againstJuventus).

"It was not the best performance over 90 minutes, but there were times when weplayed well.''

Striker Didier Drogba believes he is getting back to his best form thanks to the faith shown in him by Hiddink after being marginalised under Scolari.

"You haven't lost your Drogba, he was just not playing,'' said the forward, having started the last two games in his preferred central striking role. "Being judged when you are playing is much easier, and to the contrary, when you are not playing you can be criticised.

"At the moment I feel good when I am on the pitch and I make the most of those priceless moments. I am not at my best because I think I need more games, but I am giving what I can at the moment.

"The truth is that the coach relies on me, which is a massive psychological boost for a striker. Physically, I am not ready yet, but I need to play to get back in good form. There is no sense of revenge at all, that's my game and that's it.

"I have always been like that, I try to give my maximum and sometimes it is with success.''

Drogba added: "You can see from the last two games that Hiddink is working a lot on the shape of the team, the organisation.
